Bootstrapping the Archive Server

After deploying the virtual machine for the archive server, you must provision it via the bootstrapping process.

How to Bootstrap the Archive Server

  • After the application boots up for the first time, select Administrator on the login screen.
  • Use the default password that appears in the field.
  • Change the password when you are prompted to do so.
  • After booting up, the Server Manager opens by default. Click Local Server.
  • To configure networking on this server, assign a static IP address and DNS server address to Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4).
  • IMPORTANT
The IP addresses assigned, cannot be changed. IP changes require redeployment.
  • Run a few network tests. Go to Start > Command Prompt to reach the default gateway and ping an outside address to resolve the domain name.
  • In the Server Manager, change the computer name. Specifying the domain membership is optional.
  • You are prompted to restart to finalize your settings. Click Restart Now.
  • After the system reboots, log back in. The archive server is now bootstrapped.
