Imaging Placeholder Options
Custom placeholders may be optionally created. Placeholders are automatically generated for document families that are forced through via Publish Errors. Placeholders can be selectively applied to documents by file type, extension, or size. For placeholdered documents, text can be extracted and a maximum page threshold can be applied for the extracted text. Custom placeholder configuration options include field selection, date field formatting, and placement (alignment, indentation, spacing, and truncation).
More than one placeholder may be created for the imaging job. When two or more placeholders exist for a StreamingThe process of automatically copying, processing, filtering and loading data into review systems. Imaging job, rule functionality, similar to the Flex Processor, is used. Each placeholder’s document criteria selection is applied in placeholder order with the last placeholder rule (applied to the document) determining the processing output. The Placeholder rule order may be changed before starting the job.
Click the Placeholder tab to view the Placeholder grid. Both the Description and
Placeholder (user defined) name fields are blank by default.

To add a placeholder, click to display the Create New Placeholder dialog.

Indicate a Placeholder Name. This value will appear in the Placeholder grid located in the Placeholder tab.
Note: For the File Type and File Extension options, one or both may be selected as part of the Placeholder criteria.

Select the File Types for placeholdering. By default, all types are cleared.

Click Select All to select all file types.

Click Clear All to clear the selections and individually select the desired file types.

Include/Exclude File Types. eCapture recognizes documents by their actual content and not the file extension. Keep this in mind as you exclude/include file types.
Note: You can filter (exclude) a myriad of file types by simply selecting the file type check box. When the Job runs, it will placeholder only those file types that remain selected. Expand a file type to view the subcategories. FilteringIn eCapture, options that include processing only specific file types, processing by date range, or processing only those files that do not contain specified extensions. may be done on specific subcategories of a file type. These file types are based on the Oracle’s Outside-In identification criteria.

Select the File Extensions for placeholdering.

Click to add the extension to the list. At least one file type or category must be selected. Repeat for each extension. File extensions are automatically alphabetized.

To remove a file extension, select the extension and click .

To clear all the extensions from the list, click .

To import a list of file extensions from a .CSVA comma-separated values (CSV) file used to store tabular data. file, click Select the .CSV file and click Open.
An Import From File progress bar appears. If any errors were encountered during the import, such as duplicates, an Information dialog appears with the errors. The .CSV file may contain extensions with or without . (period). Ensure the .CSV file contains only one column of file extensions with each extension occupying its own row, e.g. Range A1 through A50 or Range E1 through E50. The file extensions are alphabetized upon import.

Specify a File Size. The default setting is None. File sizes may be over or under a specified amount. The selected file size applies to the files in the Imaging Job which have sizes on disk of either greater than or equal to, or less than or equal to, the size specified. The size is expressed in KB. For example, a 1 MB file will be entered as 1024 KB.

If desired, select Extract Text of DocumentIn eCapture, refers to an electronic file (letter, spreadsheet, slideshow, etc.) that can be discovered; or discovered and processed.. By default this option is cleared.

Set the max page threshold. Select this option and indicate a threshold value (1 to 10000) to limit the number of pages produces by larger files. By default, this option is cleared. If the page threshold is reached, the items are flagged as page threshold exceeded. All pages imaged up until the threshold is reached are included in the document. The first page will be the Page ThresholdIn eCapture, a setting (in page numbers) used for bypassing larger files and inserting a placeholder for them. For example, if you set a threshold page value of 10, then eCapture will process items with 1 to 10 pages and insert a placeholder for items with 11 or more pages. Exceeded placeholder, and subsequent pages will be those that were processed within the Max Page Threshold setting.

Click to close the Create New Placeholder dialog. The Placeholder grid displays the Placeholder rule. The Description field will contain the following values based on the selected Placeholder criteria: An example follows:
- File Types
- File Types, Extensions
- File Types, Extensions, File Size
- File Types, File Size
- To edit the Placeholder criteria, double-click the Description field of the desired Placeholder. The Edit Placeholder dialog opens. Make the changes and click to return to the Placeholder grid.
- To delete a Placeholder from the grid, click . A prompt appears confirming deletion. Click .
- To change the Placeholder rule order, click the Placeholder’s Description field and then click or until it is in the desired location.
