Roles in eDiscovery

Your role in the eDiscovery process determines your access in IPRO Search. That is, you will have access to certain features in IPRO Search and not others. This alleviates system administration and security concerns around unauthorized data access.

If you have not been given access to IPRO Search or are not sure of your role, contact your supervisor. You cannot log in without this information.

The various roles are:

Description

Administrator

Administrators can perform the following:

  • Create, track, manage, edit, export, and save cases.
  • Perform all eDiscovery tasks, including placing custodians on Legal Hold.
  • Create Case Managers and assign rights to other users.

Only an Administrator has full management rights.

NOTE
The Super User role has been replaced by the eDiscovery administrator role.

Case Manager

Case managers can perform the following:

  • Create, track, manage, edit, export, and save cases.

  • Perform all eDiscovery tasks, including placing custodians on Legal Hold.

  • Assign Full Rights to Case Members.

Member

Members have a subset of the rights of a case manager; they can view, search, comment, tag, save, and export cases–everything internal reviewers or external counsel may need to perform eDiscovery.

Members cannot open new cases or close existing cases, or place cases on Legal Hold.

Reviewer

Reviewers are restricted to working on the search results of cases assigned to them by the case manager or case member. They can view, comment, tag, and save cases.

End user

End users can only access their own mail archives.
