About Roles

The role that a user has in IPRO Search determines their user rights. That is, your users will have access to certain features and not others. This alleviates system administration and security concerns around unauthorized data access. The various roles are:

  • Case managers can create, track, manage, edit, export, and save multiple cases, place custodians on legal hold, and assign Member and Reviewer rights to other users. Only a Case Manager has full management rights.
  • Members have a subset of the rights of a case manager; they can view, search, comment, tag, and save cases. Members and Reviewers can perform everything internal reviewers or external counsel may need to perform eDiscovery. Reviewers cannot open/close cases or place custodians on legal hold.

Users Logging in to IPRO Search

When a user logs in to IPRO Search, they are prompted to proceed as a Case Manager, Case Member, or Reviewer. The role that a user chooses, determines which features are available to them.

NOTE
It is possible for a user to be a case manager and reviewer, but not for the same case. If this is the situation, the user must choose which role they will play.

Select from the following:

  • Case Manager to create, track, manage, edit, transfer, export, and save multiple cases, place custodians on legal hold, create tags and assign Member and Reviewer rights to other users. Case managers have full case management rights.
  • Case Members to view, search, comment, tag, save, export cases, and assign Reviewer rights to other users. Members have a subset of the rights of a case manager; Members cannot open new cases, close existing cases, or place custodians on legal hold.
  • Reviewer to view, search, edit, comment, tag, and save cases – everything internal reviewers or external counsel may need to perform eDiscovery.
