About Roles

The role that a user has in NetGovern Search determines their user rights. That is, your users will have access to certain features in NetGovern Search and not others. This alleviates system administration and security concerns around unauthorized data access. The various roles are:

  • Case managers Audit managers can create, track, manage, edit, export, and save multiple cases, place custodians on legal hold, and assign MemberAuditor and Reviewer rights to other users. Only a case manageraudit manager has full management rights.
  • Members Auditors have a subset of the rights of a case manager; they can view, search, comment, tag, and save cases. MembersAuditors and Reviewers can perform everything internal reviewers or external counsel may need to perform eDiscoveryauditing. Reviewers cannot open/close cases or place custodians on legal hold.

Users Logging in to NetGovern Search

When a user logs in to NetGovern Search, they are prompted to proceed as a CaseAudit Manager, Case MemberAuditor, or Reviewer, or End user. The role that a user chooses determines which NetGovern Search features are available to them.

NOTE
It is possible for a user to be a case manager and reviewer, but not for the same case. If this is the situation, the user must choose which role they will play in eDiscovery.

Select from the following:

  • Case Audit Manager to create, track, manage, edit, transfer, export, and save multiple casesaudits, place custodians on legal hold, create tags and assign MemberAuditor and Reviewer rights to other users. CaseAudit managers have full caseaudit management rights.
  • Case MembersAuditors to view, search, comment, tag, save, export casesaudits, and assign Reviewer rights to other users. MembersAuditors have a subset of the rights of a caseaudit manager; MembersAuditors cannot open new casesaudits, close existing casesaudits, or place custodians on legal hold.
  • Reviewer to view, search, edit, comment, tag, and save casesaudits – everything internal reviewers or external counsel may need to perform during eDiscovery.
  • End User to view their personal NetGovern Search archives.
