Reprocessing Indexing Failures

Processing failures can occur during indexing. Accounts and items might not be processed. Navigate to the Report tab to view any errors encountered and reprocess accordingly.

IMPORTANT
Reprocessing is only available for File Indexing and Instant Message (IM) Indexing.

Click on the + symbol in the Time column to expand the summary view to show the statistics for each individual account against which the indexing job was executed. Click on the + symbol in the account entry line to expand the account summary to show the failures encountered during processing. You can also download an error report (.csv file) detailing the failures—see Viewing Reports.

If any errors occurred during processing, you can reprocess the accounts and items that failed. You can choose to reprocess failures at the job level or at the account level:

  • Reprocess Failures at the job level in order to reprocess all accounts and items that failed in the previous execution.

In the following example, multiple accounts failed to index several items. When selecting Reprocess Failures at the job level, all failed accounts and items will be reprocessed.

  • Reprocess All Failed Items at the account level in order to reprocess only the failed account or its failed items.

In the following example, all accounts were processed, but a number of files failed to get indexed. When selecting Reprocess All Failed Items at the account entry level, only the failed items will be reprocessed.

In the following example, one account failed to get processed. When selecting Reprocess All Failed Items, the failed account will be reprocessed.

To reprocess all failures—see How to reprocess failures. To reprocess a particular account and items only—see How to reprocess failed items.
