Legal Hold Tab
The Legal Hold tab pertains to eDiscovery only, not data auditing. If you are a case manager conducting eDiscovery, the Legal Hold tab lets you enable legal hold for cases within NetGovern Search instead of having to submit a request to your NetGovern administrator.

Enable In-Place Legal Hold for Archives |
This option is used to place Legal Hold on file or email archives. |

From |
Data that is already archived in your system will be retained starting on the date you specify. |

To |
This is the end date of the time period for which archived data will be preserved under Legal Hold. |

From Oldest |
Oldest will place all archives on Legal Hold, regardless of date. |
|
To Newest |
Newest will capture all mail and files as soon as it is archived, usually in conjunction with a zero-day archive policy. |

Enable Legal Hold for Live Content |
This option is used to place Legal Hold on live content including email, Teams, SharePoint, and Slack content. |

Scope |
Scope refers to the Federated Search criteria that govern what is being placed under Legal Hold. |

Choose one live repository to place on Legal Hold. |
