Being proactive with data auditing is a key component of safeguarding critical information belonging to the organization, its staff, and its partners. It is difficult, however, for a security manager to keep track of all information at all times. The situation may arise where a certain data type is stored incorrectly during a gap between audit reviews. NetGovern alerts were created to give the audit manager visibility into these kinds of violations of the organization's data policies as soon as they happen.
In order to receive an alert, the audit manager must create an audit for the data set in question, and asks the NetGovern administrator to configure a job that keys off the audit. The administrator sets the job to deliver a daily report to the audit manager. Upon reviewing the report every morning, the audit manager can view the audit name and corresponding results, and can take action directly from the email.
